In 1947, Heinrich Peter Petersen founded the company at the Flensburg harbor, and in 1962, a new freight facility was opened on Schleswiger Straße in Flensburg. The fleet also included the "Tausendfüßler" (centipede), which WIKING had already miniaturized.
